The effectiveness of the catalyst has been demonstrated in many short, medium and long oil alkyd resins prepared by melting and solvent methods. When used at a concentration of 0.03% to 0.04% of the total oil weight, the catalyst exhibits a 20% to 25% reduction in reaction time and an improvement in color and haze.
